About Pete

Pete is an emotional first responder, resilience expert, and trained social worker focused on improving the lives of his clients.

With over 15 years of experience, Pete has created an approach called Core Success that he leverages for his clients. There are many theories about life coaching and resilience. Pete’s approach focuses on identifying strengths and recognizing challenges, not identifying people by their challenges. The critical practices within the Core Success model for change are transformational learning, emotional intelligence, cognitive behavioral theory, experiential learning theory, and the art and science of life coaching.

Pete struggled in school and socially as a child, teenager, and young adult. He was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADD and struggled in school and socially because he felt different than everyone else. Pete had anxiety, feelings of panic, negative self-talk, and a fear of anything outside his control. This negatively impacted his self-esteem and self-worth.

Finding proper resources that identified him and recognized his challenges rather than identifying him by his challenges was critical to his success. Experiencing this support led Pete to pursue a career working with teens and young adults.

Today, teens and young adults live in a world of conflicting interests, cell phones, social media, comparing themselves to others, and the transition to “what’s next after school.” Teens and young adults are experiencing high levels of anxiety, social anxiety, stress, panic, isolation, mood swings, and an ultimate fear of failure. Educating teens and young adults on emotional intelligence and self-esteem has never been more critical. Pete teaches clients to identify stressors, interact with their anxiety, and build on their core strengths.

Pete is a Richmond, VA, native living at home with his wife, two daughters, and a pup named Bruce.
